On November 12, 1988, in Long Beach, California, Russell Westbrook was born. He was raised in a violent and gang-infested neighborhood. Despite confronting difficult circumstances, Westbrook developed a love for basketball early in life.

Oklahoma City Thunder (2008-2019):
Westbrook made an immediate impact in his rookie season after the Seattle SuperSonics (since known as the Oklahoma City Thunder) selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draught.
In 2012, Westbrook and Kevin Durant both contributed to the Thunder’s run to the NBA Finals, where they were defeated by the Miami Heat.
